Whats with all the confessions today? |

He HASN'T hit puberty yet, or at least he's not too far in it. No voice drop plus we saw him go through it already. He can't be older then 12 or 13. |

He still takes seven hour bubble baths...
but dragon fire is awesome! |

I've always thought he was in his early to mid-teens. The girls are in their late teens, or about twenty. Twi hatched him when she was at the age to start school, which is around age four or five, so they're all pretty close in terms of age. The whole "baby dragon" thing probably comes from how long they live and how long their childhood lasts as a result.
All of that is speculation, of course. They're supposed to be at an ambiguous age so that can display either advanced or regressed levels of maturity depending on the story. |

I honestly think he can't be older than 15. Considering that, if going by D&D standards, a dragon isn't consider an "adult" until they're over 200 years old... that's still very young. |

Delayed aging much? |

I think when the developers designed the characters to have indistinguishable ages, it wasn't just limited to the 6 primary ponies. It was also intended for their 1 dragon.
Granny Smith is clearly portrayed as old. CmC's are clearly portrayed young. While the main cast have moments of childishness at the same time have moments displaying they have adult responsibilities. Yes, even Spike displays these moments. He's Twi's assistant, not Twi's burden. He takes care of her, not the other way around. |

He's got very neat handwriting, fit to be read by a princess (which is something most kids can't say for themselves) So he's quite old. I'd say he's on the verge of puberty hence his feelings for a certain unicorn. |

I take it someone didn't see 2.10...
Dragon Age is determined by emotion, not time. |

^ Maybe you mean dragon size, not dragon age. Just cause he got bigger doesn't mean he got older. That's like saying Bruce Banner grows old whenever he Hulks out and gets young again when he shrinks back to puny Banner. |

The way in which they mature may very well be determined by state-of-mind, though. If most dragons grow up in the wild and have fewer positive influences, perhaps it's no wonder the others we've seen thus far are more bestial and prone to be jerks.
If that were the case, it leaves the possibility open for Spike's adult form to look like the humanoid one he imagined in 'A Dog and Pony Show'. |
