She doesn't have a canon name. At all. Period. There is a Lyra-ish toy called Heartstrings, just as there is a Trixie-ish toy called Lulamoon, and an Applebloom-ish toy called Scootaloo. |

Personally, I feel like the Lya / Bonbon shipping has kind of robbed Bonbon of being her own character. Just look at how much fan art there is of just Lyra-- people consider her a "complete character," because they assign unique personality traits to her, like her being rambunctious and curious/obsessive about humans. There's barely any art of Bonbon by herself though, and she has very little in the way of common "fanon" personality traits.
People treat Bonbon like she's a part of Lyra's character, and I think that's disappointing because I like Bonbon and I don't ship her with Lyra. It's always "Lyra" or "Lyra and Bon Bon," but never just "Bonbon." Her doom is to always be lumped together with Lyra, and if you try to fix it you will always be met with resistance (that doesn't stop me from trying though, at least). |
