OP here. What I took into consideration was that their manes and tails are both curly and bi-colored, and they do display similar colors on their manes, coats and eyes.
You guys sure they don't resemble each other? |

True, but really there seems to be little correlation between a parent and their offsprings' looks. A lot of people believed Twilight's father was Trixie's father at first because of the similar cutie mark. And Applejack, Big Mac, and Applebloom are all assorted colors with different eye colors too. |

I know, it's not like I'm taking this seriously. I just noticed those similarities between both characters and found it funny. But still, #831411, what if their parents were a unicorn and an earth pony? (Can they breed for that matter, btw?) |

I've seen pics suggesting that back before Sweetie Belle was confirmed to be Rarity's sister she was (one of) Lyra and Bon Bon's fanon daughters, so you aren't the first to notice the similarities. But I don't think she was adopted. |
