THANK YOU! I like your "Discorderpy" but to me it was going to long. |

This just serves to remind me that I haven't made a proper backup for years and that worries me. Only problem is, I've gotten to the point where even DVDs aren't enough anymore, I need another 1TB+ drive just to make a backup of my files. |

Invest in a BD-RE drive. 25 Gigs a disk. Cache it with a 512 GB drive. Never store your important data on the OS hard drive. |

Seriously, remote hard drives are dirt cheap compared to the amount of data you can store on them, and small, light, easy to carry. I could invest in like ten if I wanted to never have to worry about PC problems ever again.
THEY can break down too, of course. Soultion? Emergency back-up every three months or so. I don't even use any "auto back-ups" even, just click copy/paste and leave it on for half an hour when I think I've got enough stuff I won't like to be lost. Funny that I don't do it more often or to all of my folders, though. I think I feel that to a limited extent it is a good thing to have a fresh start sometimes. Plkus, you know, the trhill. Eeyup, I'm an adrenaline junkie. NERD adrenaline. |
