Pies cost more because of all the extra time and labor involved in the creation of the other ingredients. Additionally, it was a stall at a fancy event, so you expect prices to be a bit higher. |

A bag of (loose) apples in Tesco is about 50p for 4. An apple danish in Greggs' bakery is about 80p, so yeah, I can kinda see how that works. |

Anon 868 has a point. A 20 oz bottle of Coke is about $1.50 in almost every usual place you can find it (gas stations, convenient stores, etc.) but I remember at a baseball game, the same item costing $4.00. Didn't buy it, of course. |
