a bit of thread through a girls hands never hurt anyone.
I remember when I was a youngin I would stitch with a needle and thread into the heel part of my sole

A sewing machine for 8-year olds? Meh, it was the 80s. Today's kids are sheltered. They were sheltered in the 80s, yes, but nowhere as much as now.

Honestly, I'm kinda surprised they used to make fairly complex toys like that.
