Is it me, or is Spike growing up bit by bit, at least mentally, as time goes on in the series? I mean he's learning about as much as the main girls (since he's usually there to send the letter off) so maybe RariSpike has a better chance to flourish than we think... |

I rewatched that diamond dog episode and I noticed in Spike's "headcanon", he wanted to be Rarity's hero.
Then in season 2, Rarity called him her hero on his birthday. |

^The point isn't that he's bigger or manlier, numbnuts. The point is he was called a hero, and got a kiss from Rarity, similar to his daydream in a previous episode. |
