I have to say, now that this "wesdaaman's" facebook has been made public I am really shocked.
I thought for certain this was another one of Chris Chan's pseudonyms. I guess the fact that he lets people comment on his DA page should have been a big tip-off to the contrary. |

To roundly answer for the people who don't get it:
Wesdaaman is a dA brony who has an OC named Griffy the Griffon. Griffy is a Gary Stu of laughable proportions. Wes's work is notable for being exceptionally creepy and racist. Wesdaaman himself is basically the MLP version of Chris Chandler. |

I'm just curious as to why the apparent necessary appropriate action is to be as hateful and spiteful as possible.
And directly comparing him to Chris-chan, despite whatever parallels can be made (and they do exist) does little to accurately describe Wesdaaman and only propogates a stigma that may or may not be completely true. Outside of what he publishes on the web, what do we know about him? I don't care for the guy myself, but I'd at least like more information than "HE'S BASICALLY CHRIS-CHAN BUT PONIES", because all Google shows up are his dA, these posts, and several unrelated names. Perhaps I'll go dig around in his comments a while. |

After you get a taste of his "art talent", his lunatic stories with over-the-top self insertion, general narrow minded attitude, poor handling of both trolls and white nights, his almost frightening ability to not be at all in touch with reality, and throw on top of that the fact that he's a 19 year old about to graduate high school doing all of this and you'll be all like, "Oh, Chris-chan!" |

Well, the White Knight article for Chris goes into detail in the second section, why it's an apporpreate response (and why it's for the betterment of all--- ie; it turns them from useless leeches to at least be a good "Bad Example"), and admittedly, Wesley is not on the same level as Chris.
However, being essentially cut from the same cloth, ie, 1) literalist in biblical interpertation (with self-serving selectiveness of what is and what isn't literal after all, or he has 'special privlage' to (ie; he inisst that on his request, that Celestia and Luna -- ie God-- would brainwash a loving couple with the explicit purpose of destroying said love)), 2) apparently having been raised to use his autism as a cover-all excuse for when he does get called out on his bullshit 3) Arrogance bar none: 'I'm sure Lauren Faust and everybody at Studio B will look at my ultimate awesome best work and immediatley halt production and change all Cannon to suit my story 4) A lack of empathy beyond that explainable by autism alone, but an active and deliberate disregard for others 5) a refusal to acknowledge the possibility of being wrong ect, ect, ect I could go on, but might as well let you see for yoruself, actually try getting him to see how homophobia and racism is wrong (he'll say it's defended by his religion, thus he's morally 'good' and leave it at that) At any rate, the point is: No, he's not as bad as Chris is now, but he is how Chris started, and already taking the same path. No, in the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really matter to FIM, just as Chris will never have any impact on any past, present, or future Sonic games. But I'll spare you all the essay on how morality evolved, and how gossip is a function of it, so just take my word for it: Directly, the idea is that he's the worst kind of Brony, and we want, not just for him, but for the image of the brony community at large, for him to be better than the horrible, hypocritical, selfish racist bigot he is, lest somebody judge us by him. Indirectly: Seargent Sprinkies, the guy who turned the lovable pink party pony into a psychotic serial killer, is an accepted member of the community, and is even liked by a fair percentage. Think of how emotionally and morally disgusting Wesley must be to be universally hated--- the same pattern anyone exposed to Chris eventually repeats. |

Should add: Seargent Sprinkles is a reciprocating member of the community; we all get that Cupcakes was just a story, just a joke. He's "in" on the implied social contract that being a Brony includes, and he knows there are limits to his behavior, and abides by it, and thus, Harmony.
Chris and Wesley refuse that contract, and insist that everyone else plays by their own self-serving 'contract' (and often contradicting that supposed contract when it suits them), only to the betterment and advantage of themselves. For basically the same reason, that's why Discord deserved to be eternally imprisoned in stone. |

I feel like pontificating, so hope y'all don't mind if I rant a little more.
Poe's Law is the textbook example of such a situation; that, unless there's a smile or a wink, you can't tell an actual extremist from someone pretending. Well, think about what that means. Let's break it up; The wink/smile. The greeting, the handshake, the hug, the kiss, the "hello". In the context of the social contract, that's the signature and re-affirmation of siad contract; it signals friendliness, and like any good contract, it's assumed it's not made wih any falsities of negative forced coercion by a thrid party, or outright lies by either first, and taken in good faith. Every time someone contradicts that contract and those signatures; rightfully so, gossip goes to work, and that person's reputation becomes negative; it becomes known second-hand, without a new member needing to go through the same things, that that person is not to be trusted, nor that he operates within the social contract. Case in point, we're talking shit about him, and rightfully so; you, Dudemang, now acknowledge there is a basis for it, and now are investigating for yourself our reports-- ideally, in a method where you save yourself the headache of trying to reach him through his Fortress of Bullshit (meanwhile, several of us, including Roboshi, are talking shit in the first place because it's the shit from his fortress, from when we tried to reach him) Loosely speaking, "Society" is like a self-correcting organism. Like any biological species, any feature that is bad for Society eventually gets Selected out (obviously, society and psychology and child-rearing being such amorphous things, it's hard to 'exterminate' a trait; ie, there's still neo-nazis). The actual extremist; well, talking in extremes, it's kind of a "What is evil?" question. One way to put it is "It's using 'you' to help 'me'," be it amusement, financial gain, or some kind of emotional gain (rapists, arsonists, ect); either way, a self-serving context. In the case of Chris and Wesley, it's the attempt to use the respective franchises, and outright use/abuse of what-would-have-been fellow members of their communities (not just "Brony', but "Netizen", and "Basic human being") to push their own agenda and demanding the world chaneg around them to the aim of their own satisfaction. Someone pretending: A question that used to be asked about Chris: is he just a troll, or maybe even some insanely brilliant performance artist doing all this? In Chris' case, there's too many independant organizations; news, (ex)friends, family, teachers, businesses, even the government and police, alot of which report (ie, the gossip) the same thing from even before the advent/mass-acessability of the internet and the rise of the Anti-Chris culture: Chris is a horrible person. Over such a long reach of time from so many indepenant sources with such a range of personal contact with him, the evidence is overwhelming that, in fact, that is how he really is, he's not a troll. Now, the opposite: Landover Baptist Church- it's a well-known parody website, and we even had a post about it not to o long ago; >>104553 How it relates to the social contract: Again, gossip. Eventually, someone did post the wink/smile for the site; they have the social contract of knowledge of the joke, just as we do with Seargant Sprinkles, and they extend the Contract they have with LBC to those who aren't yet in on the joke. Of course, part of any act is staying in character- but any act has structure and narrative, so, even if never encountering LBC before, most of the times people can tell it from WBC, by the fact that they can see the framework of a joke or act that LBC does. And, they'll still see the consistent inconsistencies that WBC, Chris, or Wesley present (ie; violation of the social contract) in their behavior that show that, in fact, these fuckers are actually serious. In the case of K-Turtle (the turtle with 5 arms and also spoke gibberish like Griffy), he used to be fairly hated, but he recognsied why, and changed his works to better suit, and playfully still 'trolls', but includes the wink; his reputation that he gained by making good comics, both before and after, and the lowering of the disliked aspects, earned him the privlage of being assumed that he's good on his end of the social contract. Even on the snowball's-chance-in-hell that Wesley is also a troll, the fact that he refutes the social contract with anybody, troll or not, is the effect of his own actions; not to say if anybody 'deserves' negative (or positive) treatment, but that's what he's earned himself, by means of his own actions.
