MS Paint is actually pretty good, especially the Windows 7 version. It's nice and easy - not confusing like GIMP or Photoshop. It's especially good for sketches.

Well, the background of that fourth picture certainly looks like good ol' MS Paint.

But I agree, while not perfect, Win7 Paint is moderately competent for a bundled piece of software. You can get some very sharp lines on it, not to mention that you still have the full 16.9m colour spectrum at your disposal.

MS paint looks all pixled and shit. I've seen ASCII art with better detail than most ms paint art. Use MyPaint if you want a proper tablet drawing program that's free besides GIMP or Photoshop. And to answer your question, nope, not really.

If you want a really good drawing program that's still relatively inexperience, try your hand at SAI. I think it's just $50 to register, and there's a whole bunch of custom brushes you can download. :)

Why use MS Paint when GIMP is free?
Except for the feeling of nostalgia, maybe.

MSPaint is just a tool, it doesn't matter what you use but how.
