Pinkie has had the ability to enter our universe for a long time.
She chooses not to, however, until we as a species have truly embraced friendship. Not just locally, but globally. She won't risk the near-utopian happiness of Equestria by letting in a less civilized culture. It may be thousands of years before humans are ready to join with their pony friends. But it's okay. The ponies are patient. They are looking forward to that day as much as we are. |

Actually Chris/Dan's bond was so unconditional and improbable that Pinkie briefly made it into their universe regardless of Dan's negativity.  |
