We need more set rules about what is and isn't questionable. |
| MaroonBunyip #823751 6 months ago |
its the age old argument here.
Some people believe that if a pic has nudity in it its only questionable if it has the bits and pieces actually visibly showing. And if its sex, again it only counts as explicit if you physically see the bits and pieces, otherwise its questionable. Which I personally think is crap. The rating system is for kids who visit the site to not get uncomfortable and not get in trouble by onlooking parents. ^ Should be kept in mind when people upload. |

Safe - Safe for anyone of any age
Questionable - May be innappripriate or offensive to some groups or persons Explicit - NSFW That is how it should be I think |
| Anonymous #823765 6 months ago |
I butchered the word inappropriate in that last post |
| PVRyohei #823768 6 months ago |
I'm not sure if I got it right, but I think it goes something like this:
Questionable: nudity, blood. Explicit: porn, violence. |
| Anonymous #823781 6 months ago |
"When uploading, it is essential to at the very least call out things that other people may find objectionable. If the submission might be considered inappropriate, by you or other users, rate it at least Questionable when uploading. If the submission might be considered NSFW, by you or other users, rate it Explicit. Uploading at too low a rating, or changing it later to too low a rating, is explicitly against the rules."
By definition nudity should be Explicit as well, since it is generally considered NSFW. |

what about the panty shot ones that have been uploaded lately. the john joscesco ones. i think should be questionable |

Maroon this site is meant for, as it says on here, "grown-up fan" of the show, that means not for kids. |
| MaroonBunyip #823891 6 months ago |
nightjack said: where is here? |
| Anonymous #823892 6 months ago |
To OP: NO! |
| MaroonBunyip #823901 6 months ago |
i've never seen that anywhere.
and I guarantee you a lot of kids visit here for ponies and not the porn. |
| NightJack #823962 6 months ago |
Ok, how about this is you look up the site on google, the site description it gives says "Ponibooru is a site for grown-up fans of My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" not really meant for kids but kids will get into what they want if you don't do something about it.
My point in this is that it's not meant to be for kids to look at. |

...
google's description does not form a rule for the site. Not everyone gets here via. google, many of the new lot came here when I did that video. At the very least, what a kid finds suitable or not is a very good way to rate explicit or questionable since most censoring thingos follow that. And when its not that, its what work would think, which is more or less the same as a kid's. |
| NightJack #824078 6 months ago |
^ Ok but you have to understand there is nothing set in stone(so to speek) about what should and shouldn't be put in a certain rating and is ultimately up to interpretation of the people on here and it seems most people are fine with the why it is now. |
| NightJack #824088 6 months ago |
But some don't care about what others think and want all nudity marked as explicit no mater what. |
| MaroonBunyip #824114 6 months ago |
regardless, I still stand by what I first said. |
| NightJack #824158 6 months ago |
^ And I stand by my belief that more people need to learn not all nudity is bad, and that's what I see marked with a higher rating then it should be, and that's not to say I don't think some need to learn not to put the rating lower then what it needs to be. |

IMO you can't exclude kids, so make the defaults child-safe. It's ultimately up to the owners and moderators, and since posting here is a privilege not a right, I'm happy to tag and rate as codified in the rules. I'm with MaroonBunyip here regarding what the site should do, but fully agree with NightJack's notion that "not all nudity is bad". Here's what I sort of do: it's a bit of evolved position, but hopefully respectful of the rules.
Safe = on by default, thumbnails visible → safe for all ages, child fans of MLP included. Romantic shipping of all flavours is fine here. Cartoon violence of the sort you see in the show and no stronger, maybe threats of same. Maybe mild innuendo. Skimpy heroic-type clothing that's basically not just underwear. Nudity? maybe. If it's nonsexual, very cartoony and tame, or if it would be considered high art or public statue material. Questionable = on by default but spoilered so you have to decide if you want to see it → any shipping that's more risqué; violence with consequences, or realistic threats of violence or rape; un-overt "tasteful nudity" where nothing's actually showing, and it's not in a sexual context; lingerie and beachwear where nothing's showing through, also not in a sexual context; fetishy wear that wouldn't get you arrested if you wore it in public but would raise lots of eyebrows; bawdy humour and cartoonish sexuality. Explicit = off by default → overt nudity or bits showing; sexual contact of all kinds including gropes or passionate kisses if otherwise nude, no need to see bits; lingerie with bits showing though; fetishy wear that would get you arrested on a public street; extreme violence, torture, mutilation, rape, or serious incitement to 'em. Yeah, it's a high bar. I think that's just fine, since the site becomes just a little less friendly to people who just want cute pics of pastel ponies if you get too much Questionable in everyone's Safe. You'll notice I put nudity in all three categories. Context matters ☺ |

It could be a sting test by someone who's trying to get Ponibooru.org listed with OpenDNS as an adult website, like 413chan.net is. (listed there due to revealing costumes of cosplayers' photos/drawings. Some places require more clothing on persons in images.) |

A request: Stop tagging 'plot' and kissing as questionable. It's childish and pathetic. |
