Actually torn between vicuñas (soft'n'silky, royal associations), llamas (beasts of burden), and alpacas (because they just look silly, google pics of shorn ones if you need a laugh) here.

Well...for a Inca one I would go with an Alpaca, since they come from the southern regions. Or you can just go with ponies, that's up to you of course.

There were no artiodactyls (horses, llamas) in Mexico in aztec times.
The only domesticated animal in this place was the turkey. (My Little Turkey, anyone?)
