Human Twilight is traditionally given a dark complexion because it sets her apart from human Rarity. Both girls have purple hair, but because pony Rarity has a snow-white coat and pony Twilight a purple one, human Rarity is light-skinned and human Twilight dark-skinned for contrast. It's really just that simple.

BG, a lot of people make Rarity black. I think of Rarity as Black.. Indian.. Middle Eastern.. Whatever - just dark skinned.

Fun fact: nobody care if you prefer black Twilight, white Twilight, asian Twilight, or vampire Twilight.
The artist won't change that, now that it started.
All you can do is either start your own, or follow this one.

Honestly, if people didn't keep pointing out her color I wouldn't even notice it.

This is not me trying to act all PC and colorblind, it is actual fact. It's just a different type of bucket fill + click to set the characters apart. The artists don't even bother to change the facial structures etc. for race. Which is fine because ponies work the same way.

Anyway, I came here to make a joke about knowledge being power and free information being a dangerous thing, ISN'T IT TWILIGHT, before getting completely derailed...
