iPods themselves are responsible for compressing nothing. They merely play compressed files,which people these days are foolish enough to pay for; but they can also play a few lossless formats. And if you use the line-out port built-in as part of the dock connector, you can get audio quality as good as a CD assuming the source was CD-quality. |

And since scratch is using the dock connector, we can assume her music is playing through the line-out, probably from a lossless ALAC file rather than a lossy mp4 or mp3. |
