Well, according to other pictures by UC77, the Jaguar machine/Getter-2 pilot is Rarity and the Bear machine/Getter-3 pilot is Fluttershy. I think he chose the pilots based on their color schemes.
Thinking about it, the setup could work, I suppose, but I've never pegged Pinkie as equivalent to Ryoma - she's more of the comedy character, like Musashi (or Benkei?). She's certainly the former, in some capacity - Musashi, in anime form or even his import into the dark and edgier original manga, stood as a goofier, happier contrast to the characters of Ryoma and Hayato.* In turn, I've always liked to think of Rainbow Dash as a good Getter-1 pilot for reasons even beside the fact that she's my favorite pony: she can get loud and hot-blooded, charging in without thinking things through (like bucking a dragon), she is a determined pony in some capacity, even though she doesn't always come out on top, and I think she can run the spectrum between heroic and anti-heroic like Ryoma can in his various depictions (...not quite to the same degree, mind you, but...). *This does not mean I want to see her dead like Musashi. Don't construe it like that. :/ |
