DAWW!!!

Also tip: cut off the bottoms of their hooves with uneven lines to make it look like they're standing in the grass instead of pasted on top of it. Try to get something like occlusion with the grass blades or apples

I appreciate the tip. While I get what you're saying, putting that into practice effectively is extremely difficult. If I could do it well, I would, but unfortunately, I'm no Photoshop guru (I use Gimp, after all. :P).

Here's a quick way. Take a small sample behind the feet, then work on it so that it looks good when aligned on top. Same effect, no having to tool around with the vector layers any more than necessary.

@ Bryal

I'm a Gimp'er as well. Download a couple texture brushes and load em in. There's a couple grass brushes for Gimp on Deviantart. Add em to a new transparent layer on part of the bottoms of the hooves. Fiddle with the hue/saturation/brightness until the new grass matches the photo. Mess around with the lighting effects too. I like the lighting on Mac a lot, but the sisters seem a tad flat, no offense. Just a bit of constructive criticism. ^_^

I'll look into those texture brushes and see what I can do with them. I'll probably need to look at some tutorials to figure them out.

I literally learn a lot of new things on every picture I work on. I appreciate you guys helping me learn even more.

I have 5 or 6 apple trees in my backyard. Now I wish I could call on the Apple family to help harvest them every year.
