He looks more like a blob than a ghost. :/ |

I remember watching that short on one of those old VHS compilations of random retro cartoons about a couple of decades ago. My God, that was depressing. =( No, the fox cub reuniting with Casper as a ghost does not magically make things all better (for the viewer), it just opens up more disturbing questions. >_<;
At the same time though, I wish modern Casper shows/dreadful made for TV movies were ballsy enough to do something like this, Standards & Practices be damned. |

I actually remember watching this! And it was depressing! That scene was forever stuck in my mind for years. Had small cameos in my dreams along with the clothes eating giant grasshopper. And now I question why did I ever liked Casper as a kid! Why did I ever liked watching his cartoons and movie? He made my childhood a little bit more depressing. |

^ Almost every Casper episode was depressing. Whether it was because everyone was scared of him due to being a ghost or because of characters dying (like this one), even the so called happy endings were twisted at best. My grandma had a bunch of tapes of these episodes, and I remember seeing this when I was six or seven. Yes, I felt horrible, and yes, I still remember the whole scene exactly to this day. I can still hear his blubbering voice as he carries the fox away and buries it.
I can't complain too much, though, because those tapes were also how I was introduced to comedic hilarity like Daffy Duck vs. the Nazis. |

Oh my god, I remember that! Is it strange that I never once cried at these scenes? |

^ You don't have to cry to feel bad about it. I didn't cry either. I've had enough other things in my life to cry about that I've never been moved to cry even once by TV, a movie or a video game. |
