In my headcanon, Spike has just hatched, and he's covered in a sweet substance that encourages grooming by the mother(s). Twilight naturally gets into it, Celestia joins in because she yearns to taste the joys of motherhood for herself. Spike, being too young to recognize it for anything lewd (not that it really is), simply goes along with it. |
