Oh, it's true; it's true. We argue, but, to be fair, we're pretty awful at it. The whole love and tolerance thing really does define us pretty well.
I've seen flame wars and brony flame wars are pretty civil by comparison. |

It's unreasonable to expect every single brony to be 100% positive all the time. There are some heated arguments, but in general this fandom doesn't have flamewars any worse than other fandoms (and for the record, I've seen a lot of people call mundane discussion and debate flamewars).
Also, note that while we're a generally a friendly community, the "love and tolerance" thing was mainly a method of counter-trolling. Saying "where's the love and tolerance, guys?" whenever things get the least bit heated is really obnoxious. |

People always get the wrong image that we are "Nice" community and then gets shocked by gore and porn. Sure we are suprisingly nice, but not in christian-puritanist-treehugging-hippie way.
Not that I mind, thought. We trapped a good sum of people in a year. Took me/us a while to push all the gore and porn back into the system as the new people quickly became the majority. |

Last time I went to Ponychan I saw recolored mlp screenshots detrailing threads with roleplaying and mods deciding the best pony with banhammers. Ponychan has failed to be the chan for mlp:fim fans. I think Ponibooru IS what Ponychan is supposed to be. This site shouldnt have this much communication going on, but thats just how it has become. |

I really don't see a reason to accuse the whole fandom of arguing and flame wars. There are certain people who haven't grown up and act in such an immature manner behind the cover of anonymity. But that doesn't mean that we all are like that. ^w^
We just need to learn to accept that others may and will have different opinions than we do. That is what life is like. There are no easy answers or permanent solutions. Compared to some fandoms with actual flame wars brony fandom is surprisingly peaceful and understanding. Check out for that Humble Brony Bundle thing for an example. |

I think the real explanation is that they're different fans.
The thing about a fandom this big is that you'll never get the whole thing to agree on anything. There's a group who have taken the idealism of the show to heart... well, good for them. There's other folks who just think it's a neat show for reason X or Y, and you can't expect them to have the same standards. The thing that MLP fans have in common is that they are fans of MLP. That's it. To the extent that there ever was a unified culture in the fandom, it split up long ago. |

The only rage I have ever seen fans raging and fighting in flame wars involves: other fandoms (like the furry fandom) people who made fan characters and other characters who interact with the mane cast in even the SLIGHTEST romantic escapade, and grimdark fanfictions and tumblrs (that are generally nice people to talk to but not too crazy). |
