Me and Rarity and the only non-dweebs.
Seriously, what is with people and that game? It made them overlook Skyward Sword, which is arguably the best Zelda game of all time.

^I've never played Zelda, your argument is not applicable.

Meanwhile, I've played no other ElderScrolls game except for Skyrim, but I gave the game a shot because of the developer being the same dev who made Fallout 3, and Skyrim's engine being the likely candidate for a Fallout 4 game if there ever is one

Implying there are enough differences between Zelda games to define a "Best"

@ skyward sword also lacks character customization, skill variety, voice acting and literally hundreds if not thousands of quests. Not saying skyrim's better or not, just that there are good reasons for skyward sword to have been so overlooked.

@Gashhunk

none of those things truly matter in what is a better game, Skyward Sword while it does not have as much game time as Skyrim is more polished in pretty much every way, it's development team took their time making it as perfect as possible and it shows.

though saying Skyward Sword was overlooked isn't exactly smart ether, it is actually the fastest selling Zelda ever.

@PinkieDie

you obviously haven't played many Zeldas..

seriously I hear this all the time but the only two Zelda's that truly have a similar feel are OoT and Twilight Princess and that's cause of all the bitching over how different Majora's Mask and Wind Waker were.

of course once TP came out they bitched it was too similar too Ocarina proving that the Zelda fanbase probably shouldn't be listened too that much the development team.

@Zancrow

no Skyrim is a very fun game.

however it is also very very unpolished and it was quite obviously somewhat rushed, development should have been months longer.

I like Skyrim, but I do have to agree with the lack of polish. I did get what I wanted out of the game though, and that was to be impressed by the new engine. The finer details, however, I found myself thinking could be better.

For example, the human NPCs still have thick-skull syndrome, and do not die from headshots. To have a guard or bandit looking for you while having an arrow in his temple, AND THEN GIVE UP SEARCHING AND ACT LIKE NOTHING HAPPENED is very irritating.

Similarly, I hate how you can perfect your Sneak skill, yet you cannot slash your enemy's throat when you manage to sneak up behind him without being spotted. One-armed skill be damned, if I'm ninja enough to sniff my enemy's farts then I should be rewarded with always being able to kill him instantly and silently.

Also, would it kill anyone to script a horse whistle for when your steed decides to run off?

As I said, it's the little things that piss me off. I got what I wanted, and am happy with that, but the rest of it needs attention. As soon as the modding tools come out, I'm going to start fixing the flaws that I can fix

lol I know xD Just wanted to say that once : P
It's buggy as hell and I lost all my faith in Bethesda because of this game.

I've gained a bit more faith in Bethesda because of Skyrim, interestingly. Probably because Fallout 3 is one of the buggiest games I've ever played - though it is also one of my favourite games ever. New Vegas was a big letdown in my opinion, and made me wonder if Beth were going to start sucking big time.

My play through of Skyrim has been relatively pleasant. I have locked up a couple of times, and the last Dragon I killed flew around in circles on a dime like it was stuck in a twister (which contributed to its demise), but when it comes to stability, I've found it to be refreshingly stable for a Bethesda game.

My issues are gameplay related, stuff that I don't think is right/fair (The amount of enemies I come across who have disproportionately larger health than expected, how enemies blocking reduces their HP loss dramatically when compared to me blocking, and the other issues I outlined above being my concerns)

But when it comes to the engine, I've found the game to be very stable and a joy to experience. I have faith, now, that if a new Fallout game is made by Bethesda, and it uses Skyrim's engine, then chances are it'll be the least buggy Fallout game made by the developer, and probably one of the most fun, too.
