Why is Celestia and Luna on the flag anyway. The play is supposed to be depicting what happened before their rule, isn't it. So, where do they come in the grand sceme of things? |

^ It's pretty rare to see a play kids put on about the Revolutionary and Civil Wars have flags with the proper number of stars. Most likely the present-day equestrian flag was the easiest one for them to procure. |

I don't think the alicorns in the flag are Celestia and Luna specifically. I think they're there to symbolize the unity of Earth Ponies, Pegesii, and Unicorns, since at the core, all an Alicorn is is an Earth Pony with wings and a horn. Notice the alicorns in the flag don't have cutie marks. They're there to symbolize day and night. The Canterlot flag with Luna and Celestia is different from this flag by means of a faint yin-yang coloration. |

Unicorns and pegases told earthponies to fuck themselfs and just combined their own two flags to form Alicorns. Later when Celestia and Luna took over, the ponies couldnt give a shit about creating accurate pictures of these two, so they just copied the super race of alicorns shown on the flag on to the murals and glass windows to present the two sister gods. |
