If I remember all the General Derpy pictures that have been posted, I think i can piece together the basic plot. There's some big Equestrian war with the Gryphons. At first Celestia, Luna and the Elements of Harmony lead the war effort, but then something happens which either kills them or puts them out of comission. Afterward, Princess Luna takes command, along with General Derpy, Spike, Big Mac and Trixie. |

If I'm reading the stained glass window in 88487 correctly, the mane six were put to sleep. They look more like they're peacefully resting then being dead anyway, and there's the magic aura around their heads too.
I guess maybe Celestia was so overcome with grief that she stepped down and let Luna handle the fighting? Looks like Luna isn't holding up perfectly either. |

Actually this seems awfully like "Equestria: Total War", especially if it's tagged General Derpy, but they got the eye wrong, I think she loses her left eye, not her right.
