It's true.

However, it won't be effective. People like to do things just because they can. And well, they don't care.

"Look at you, bronies. Pathetic creatures of meat and bone, panting and sweating as you fill the internets with pony porn and grimdark. How can you hope to preserve the innocence of the children?"

Sorry, could not resist. :3c

http://bronibooru.mlponies.com/

It's headed by Ponygoons (www.mlponies.com), which is very strict on keeping it non-creepy.

I think it's relevant to more than just one era, not just ponies.

Kids are probably exposed to a lot of things online without supervision.

What one can do is to be open to talk to them about any topic they might encounter.

Like you said, children today are a lot more tech-savvy, but thanks to the internet they are also a lot more life savvy. So rather trying to shelter them from bad influnece which is becoming increasingly more difficult, we can put more emphasis on explaining things to them and give them the benefit of trust that they can understand.

I don't think that porn, gore and others are a bad thing, but it's true that there's need to be some measure to stop kids from seeing it. Most bronies could simply ignore what they don't like (even if the prefer to whiny on the comments), but most kids aren't that internet savvy.
But once again, just because a site is pony related doesn't means that it needs to be kid friendly.

Oh yeah, bronibooru is the best choice for little kids to catch the best fan art withouth the creepy or sexual thematics. And Equestria Daily, well, little kid will only watch what they really like, and Eq has a lot of safe content to keep her distracted.

Don´t worry, that kind of curiosity only hit a children in the "teen" years or sometimes, never, until late adolescense.

Oh, and I love your drawings, you are a very talented person. Thank you for sharing it here.

In the words of a crazy chaos theorist:

"If there is one thing the history of evolution has taught us it's that life will not be contained. Life breaks free, expands to new territories, and crashes through barriers, painfully, maybe even dangerously, but, ah, well, there it is."

Thats why we have tags, and I think shipping should be "questionable"

I agree with this comic.

This comic is disagreeable and offensive.

It's not that nobody EXPECTS kids to find inappropriate things online.

It's that it's not our responsibility.

The 'fandom' is primarily made up of adult males because it's primarily that subsection of the audience that is interested in participating in online fandom - not all, of course, but mostly.

If you're worried about your sister finding inappropriate stuff online, that's your problem, not anyone else's, and nobody else needs to accomodate you. Welcome to the 21st century.

Cuteospere. You're a silly pony.

The Internet is wonderful, wild and definitely not for children. Parental responsibility is the only sure-fire way to keep kids from wandering where you don't want them to until they're old enough to turn off safe search for themselves. Tagging and putting flimsy age restrictions on galleries and videos will do a little. But really, concerned parents need to watch over their children's backs constantly to keep them off the "bad stuff". Either that or tell them to watch TV instead. Or better yet, read a book.
