Save that Discord is just about "Chaos" and its fanon that he gets more powerful from misery and hate.
Or, perhaps, Discord is what the Windigos became when all of Ponykind united. They were no longer strong enough individually to continue fostering hate amongst the Ponies, so they combined all their might into one mighty being. So the Ponies countered with Celestia and Luna, each a combination of the three types of Pony. |

How are they evil? They only reacted to how the three races acted. No more anger, no more of their ice. In fact, they could be considered Chaotic Lawful, as their entire nature seemed to be taking out anyone who was keeping the races from working together. |
