Last night some interesting discussions about Ponychan's mods and certain members were -attempted- to be carried.
Keyword is -attempted- as the local mods kept deleting the posts and a few persons (confirmed as Ponychan Mods) were desperately attempting to sage and deral the discussions as well. tl:dr: Ponychan has degenerated into the complete opposite of what it intended to be and the Mods do anything to negate any accusation about power abuse or playing favorites. I'm sticking to /co/ and this place for the time being. |

I used to post around on ponychan. Then I saw it slowly divulge into stupid bullshit. It's nothing but shitty OC recolours of the mane six and morons looking into a show far deeper than they need to. |

Ponibooru and /co/'s night threads are all what I need for my minuscule equine fix.
Ponychan is a circle jerk of OCs, abusive Mods protecting some -horrendous- persons and imposing their personal beliefs over everyone there. If you say you like Applejack, you get immediately banned for -and I cite textually- being a mental retard without good taste. Also, the mods are so dumb that whenever they deliver bans, it's very common to see other people getting caught on them as well, or whenever a person complains and calls them on their BS, the mods (and their favorited friends) dismiss the critics under the excuse that "all critics posted on Ponychan are the work of a single troll samefagging and using proxies so they are worth nothing." |

Ponychan mods dismiss the opinion of anyone who posts as Anon because according to them, all anons are trolls. Also, I have seen Mods banning people for not offering their help to people, or for even suggesting the idea that if a person asks an absurdely big and complex favour, he should reward people for their help. So they ban you for not helping and if you help, they can ban you as well. |

Because some people isn't interested at all on creating an internet life to get sure that everything they say or do cannot be credited to other people, or that nobody can steal their internet fame, I suppose. From a practical point of view though, it improves communication. Say, for instance, I wanted to have a conversation with you, and only you. If you had a name, we could talk in private messages. Anonymous posting is exactly for that, to get sure nobody can mess with your privacy if you don't want to.
Of course, Ponychan's mods (and their self-proclaimed "famous people") use the anonymous posting as a very convenient excuse to dodge critics or to openly attacking people they dislike. ("You don't dare to show your face, so you must be a trolololol -FLAMED! -BANNED -PERMABANNED!") They run on circular logic and "NO U!" comebacks. |

The only thread I even go to on Ponychan is the Straight Shipping picture thread.
/pony/ creeps me out, /oat/ is filled with baboons (then again, the whole site is filled with fools who enjoy narrative masturbations like Homestuck), and /pic/ is barely tolerable. I really wish there was a MLP site free of sexual smut, rage-material, idiocy, and creepiness. The filters here keep most of those things away, but ugh... Maybe I should try my hand at starting a site or something. |

Hmm. Well, I frequent Ponychan from time on time and yes, I have seen how the mods tend to be a bit too ban-happy indeed, especially against people they don't like too much. I have seen them shielding and playing favorites with some people as well, but not very frequently, or at least not in the sections I tend to lurk around. I have seen the person menctioned on OP's image but I decline to make comments about her behavior because I don't want problems. |
