You guys do realize most of the show the mane six acted out was simplified and did in metaphors so fillies and common folk could understand it.
We have a base now but also we have a lot of blanks to fill. |

They happened at different times. First all three tribes united. Some time later, Discord took over, and Celestia and Luna took him down. Not long after that, Luna turned into Nightmare Moon, and we know the rest. There, I just spoiled your fun.
However, I've got nothing for the two alicorns on the flag, so go nuts with it. |

The story was about Equestria being founded. Discord likely took over after the three tribes came together, and I don't think you want a story to end with "And then a mad, reality-warping monster god that took joy in seeing ponies suffer, took over the world". |

The flag is likely just so the ponies can better relate to the story. Nothing more than a story telling device to symbolize that this land was Equestria. |

If we can say "the flag is an anachronism" we can say the whole play is just made-up too. It's not that useful to pick and choose what is right. Also we're probably going to see another alicorn at the end of the year, so alicorns existing before Celestia and Luna isn't as unreasonable as it previously was. |

The elements of harmony might have been created by the tribes uniting. Perhaps Discord was messing with the world in subtle ways before Equestria was founded, then upon seeing ponies that were ruining his discord, he decided to oppress them. |

The image in the window of Discord manipulating each of the three different races, to me, just even further suggests that Discord's reign was ended by the first alicorn rulers.
Or maybe it's just artistic. Probably, yeah. |

Those plotholes are just in the heads of the fans.
It's easy. Ponys hate each other, they face the windigos come together and fund Equestria. Discrods comes along and fucks them in the ass with his chaotic reign. The Alicorn sisters (the physical union of all three races, which we NEVER knew where they came from) defeat him with the use of the Elements. Since they are basically deities, they start their reign. Then Luna goes evil. And from there it's easy. |

The way I picture it Discord didn't appear after the formation of Equestria. More like he was an ancient god like Q in Star Trek,but without any kind of inhibition. Sometimes he ruled directly and created absolute chaos, like when he was released after more than a thousand of years and wanted to luxuriate himself, but sometimes he just played games with sentient beings.
I mean windigos who feed on hatred, quarrels and... discord? They sound like exactly the thing D'd send to mess with the ponies; and maybe when ponies defeated his minions he started to play rough. |
