Since this is totally how they've said how tall they were, it makes all the more sense.

It's just as I had hoped!!

Now we need someone to genetically engineer marshmallow ponies.

Then, world peace.

I think someone tried to figure this out before but I think they came up with Celestia being just as tall as a human.

what I find interesting is that all these scale images line upalmost perfectly (as in, when people made one based on the size of an apple, etc). And I don't doubt that it's pure coincidence on the animator's part. I doubt they were told "Make the candy cane 8 feet" and actually tried particularly to keep it in scale.

Would take this with a grain of salt. After all, Jayson said that he considers Celestia more of a 'regular' horse, which means she has to be at least 5 feet tall at the shoulder. It's animation, and stuff like this tends to be pretty ambiguous.

^Gittonsxv - I believe the previous attempts at sizing ponies had them come out at around 3'6", so this fits in just fine.

From time to time, I have daydreams where I (a six-foot-two human) fall into Equestria, where I am reviled as being a giant.

Great. Now my daydreams have a basis in reality.

Thanks, math-nerd brony.

Well, the show is called 'My LITTLE Pony' for a reason.
Ponies are already small, so imagine how short a 'little pony' would be.

I had a dream a couple weeks ago where my house was in Ponyville, and Scootaloo crashed through a window and broke something else. I picked her up by the scruff of her neck like a cat and carried her outside while scolding her. It was actually kind of funny though because I was holding her out a bit as she was flailing her little hooves around trying to kick me because she wanted me to put her down

This is a little bit off since the height of the candy cane is measured while it is slanted.

@anon

It's off in a lot of ways, actually. The cane might be eight feet long rather than tall, the pink foal is kneeling slightly, sizes may or may not take hair into effect, I used a basic 5'9" human male, etc.

Feel free to add/remove several inches at your leisure.

@ NTAC

I suck at math :V

@ sargesprinkles

Part of the reason I did this was because I was curious if all the human+pony/Molestia stuff was physically feasable :c

Soooo, the average American male is only 5 feet tall? That's what this chart is showing.
Average American male is about 5'10.

Now here is something I would love to see: realistically, each of the pony species would be different sizes.
It would make sense that Pegasi are the smallest, due to being able to fly. Less mass makes it easier to gain air. Figure they are around 3 feet high.
Earth Ponies would be the largest. Being farmers and manual laborers, they would need a larger body. I think they would be 4 - 4.5 feet high.
Unicorns would be smack dab in the middle.

Just some thoughts.

Heck, I could almost definitely carry her majesty!

The filly posture in the initial sizing is stooped, and all subsequent measurements are based off of it. I'd estimate a foal's postured standing height at 2'5".

Then again, this is also based on an size estimate applied by a pony to a holiday decoration.

Also, .88 feet is closer to 11 inches than 10.

Hiya, I was the one who estimated Celestia at 70". She has changed size slightly since the pilot. I measured her using the scene at the end of the second episode, just before the mane six bow and Luna gets her wreath, and Rarity barely comes up to Celestia's shoulder. This comparison clearly shows that Celestia's withers are now even with Fluttershy's head. The estimate of 40" for pony height (ignoring hair) is confirmed.

>#781173

Foal: a bit over half a meter
Pony: 1 meter
Alicorn: 1 and a half meter
Human: the average height of a human

No need to be specific at converting units when talking about fictional horses.

Also I doubt hoofed mammals would use "feet" as a measuring unit.

So ponies are 60 cm at the withers? That's about the size of a German Shepard dog. I thought they were at least twice as big. My LITTLE pony indeed.

So by my math, Celestia humanized should be almost 8 feet tall while Luna is 6'8" or so. I want to see this in humanizations.
