I agree, how they end up on the flag in the first place?

Yeah, that flag has kind of an odd design, all things considering.
I mean, they didn't even show up.

They probably just couldn't fit the entire founding of their country in a 20 minute play.
Besides, sesason isn't over.
Be patient, damn it.

Well the alicorns on the flag didn't look like them much (white with blue mane, blue with purple mane) so it could well be just a symbolic image of pony unity.

because it was a symbol, a metaphor for the theatrical play. How else do you show Equestria so everyone will understand that it is about the land that exist now? Kind of like how school plays will often use the 50-stars flag instead of the 13 colonies flag.

It is all was abstract, don't take it as a part of solid history.

Did anyone notice, in the cold opening, Daisy and the colt with the grapes cutie mark [Colton Vines] are acting like a couple again? They've appeared as such previously. The camera pans off them pretty quick [right side of screen].

Also, did John De Lancie record new Discord dialogue for the Hub's promos? Discord says "I'm naughty AND nice!"

Of course it explains nothing about Celestia and Luna's origins. Gods and goddesses are supposed to be shrouded in mystery. You think Celestia would allow a story that would suggest that she is anything less than an all-powerful divinity?

That's definitely Celestia & Luna, same as the narratiion of the first episode.

Cute picture :D

It makes me think that if Celestia was asked if it really went down like this she'd answer, no, but she prefers this version. :D

Silly Luna, that explanation will come at the start of Season 3.

@Vree

it's not the same colour, Celestia's mane was light pink in episode 1, and Luna's was sky blue.

maybe the winged unicorns in the flag represent the union between earth ponies, pegasi and unicorns, and Tia and Luna stepped in latter.

^Dumb_Rock: And conveniently re-wrote the legend to place themselves into it, making the ponies believe that Celestia and Luna are the fulfillment of an ancient prophesy.
