You don't know that for sure. You ever see those Weaver pics were Mr Cake is like sexually abusing Pinkie? It could even be worse, maybe Mrs Cake is in on it to. Or Pinkie is their indentured servant or even slave. The show never really gives Equestria's political views on such subjects. Or maybe Pinkie is the house guest from hell. Always makes a mess, never cleans up after herself, was supposed to stay for a week in the guest room but now has taken over the whole top floor for the last three years. |

Hey, I just thought of something. We know Pinkie has some serious abandonment issues thanks to Party of One. She comes from a family of poor rock farmers. Maybe her parents had to sell her off to Cakes. Money to make ends meet, one less mouth to feed. |

Alternatively, since Pinkie's entire family seemed to enjoy her party, she probably left on her own or because her parents thought that her talent would be better used elsewhere. Add Lauren Faust's comment about how The Cakes think of Pinkie like family, and you have a neat and fun backstory.
I like sad stuff in the show, and some light grimdark in the fandom, but I don't think that's the case with Pinkie canon. |
