Pretty much all fiction that goes into this level of detail on dragons agree that dragons can breed with anything. |

It's generally accepted by fiction everywhere that dragons can breed with anything. It's even implied that dragons reproduce more with other species that with eachother, which is why there are so many types of dragons. |

My theory is that Discord is actually the descendant from a bloodline of "dragonponies" with exotic mates, each of which gave birth to a stranger-looking offspring with a body part added from the non-dragonpony parent, until we ended up with Discord. |

Be that as it may, but let me ask you something: why, WHY is it SOOOOOO important for two people who love each other to 'breed' at all???? Some shippers seem to have a strange need to give their OTP children. Couldn't Spike and Rarity just like or love each other, without having children.
Anyways, rant over. Gets annoying when so many shippers do this, lol. Besides, dragon-ness is recessive, so it would just end up being a regular pony. |

No matter how much it's "possible" I prefer the idea that it isn't. The thought that even if they wanted kids they won't be able to on top of the fact Spike is sure to outlive Rarity by centuries at the least just makes the idea they go through with a relationship seem sweeter to me. |

Griffons, Manticores, Hippogriffs, Labradoodles, any sort of chimaera is seemingly created exactly the way we think. :) |
