Read it, or more like glanced it while eating, while it showed signs of promise here and there it would have been 20% COOLER had you worked in FlutterRAGE/Bitch mode into the Story.

So long as Cele needs her Butcher to quietly get rid of the nuisance Ponies. without having to resort to sending them teh Moon. Then Pinkie will always have lots to draw. But, really I'm disappointed that Crazy Twilight, wasn't "in" on this disposal order, and didn't just pop by to see how Pink was getting on with her work. |

What makes people mad and sad about Cupcakes is that they're effectively powerless to change it.
Of course you can write your own ending. But as soon as you do that, you are effectively acknowledging that you can write your own ending to ANYTHING. All fiction is fluid, mutable, little more than an impression left in your mind and not grounded in any real events. The reason why people care about canon is that they're trying to find some solid spark around which to wrap their favourite stories, make them a tiny bit more real than the thoughts in their head. Cupcakes makes the reader feel helpless because they want it to turn out different, but as soon as you effectively make the above admission you also rob yourself of the reason you wanted to change Cupcakes in the first place. If you admit that fiction is a fluid thing and that the outcome of Cupcakes is no more immutable than your imagination wills it, then why even bother rewriting it? You've already removed the source of your discomfort, i.e. what it did to characters you like. Cupcakes cannot be defeated on its own terms. It cannot be undone. At best, if the original authour wrote a sequel that might possibly let people see it as 'canon' and avoid the above phenomenon. |

I know the other "ending" I read to cupcakes was Pinkie drawing her own number, it was kinda interesting. But just like the first cupcakes, it could need a re-write for better grammar and whatnot.

Hum had time to read it now, and it was so-so. Angel felt out of character tbh. And some parts were a bit iffy, but it was quite well written. However, it took the generic path of "quick, technically painless death for Pinkie" that all but one so far has taken. But I however have to give you praise for actually taking the path of "Celstia is a demi-god, why not give her powers?", althou, it would have been a even "sweeter" ending if she got a "new" Angel as well. The ending was interesting however, it was at least original. |
