There are a few scenarios that can play out where another alicorn isn't awkward.
While we have seen a possible wedding or some sort of celebration with Shining and Cadence with main six in tow, this doesn't mean that will be the scenario presented in the show. For all we know the two could be part of a fairy tale told in one of the episodes (Shiny Armor like the Knights in Shining Armor popular in fairy tales) or they could possibly be part of early Equestria history. It'll be interesting to see how this develops, that's for sure. |

Maybe because she's direct descendant of Celestia and/or Luna while Blueblood is just the great-great-great-great- even more greats-grandchild of an Alicorn.If Cadence has foals they may look like regulare ponies.
I'm also assuming that any possible Alicorn child of Celestia or Luna would be mortal without any god-like powers despite looking like an Alicorn. But that's just headfanon... |
