Spin my totem, take pictures, fangasm, find extra pillows and blanket so I can sleep on the floor, and let her sleep peacefully. Questions can wait till later.
Hopefully I realize that she's there before I climb into bed. I usually go to bed really tired, my room is very dark, and I'm not in the habit of turning my lights on before sleeping. Pretty sure both of us would freak out if I kinda just flopped into bed the way I usually do and found an unidentified, breathing furry thing in my bed. At the very least waking her up would give me an explanation as to why she was there in the first place. |

Check that the ferrets are OK (not that I'd think Twilight would do anything to them, but if she got in, what else got in or out?) Turn on the camcorder. Watch her quietly as she sleeps. Say a gentle hello if she wakes, so she's not too startled. Stroke her cheek gently if she's OK with that. Meanwhile I'd hope I'd figured out a workable way to help her to use the human facilities before she woke up, because there's usually not a lot of time after waking up before it's urgent, and it's not like even Lyra sits in a way that would aim in rather than over the seat. |
