We were lucky that Rarity neutralised Spike's dragon greed. I think it would have meant Spike's termination. Whirly's Night Guard interpetations are supposed to be very tough and badass. |

It all depends on how you think about it. Are the Wonderbolts the premier combat team?
As first responders to harass and distract (Get there quick and keep it away from towns and cities) I can see, but I'd imagine 'The Best of the Best' would be the Royal Guard, then the cream of the crop Royal Guard assigned directly under the Princesses. |

The Wonderbolts seem to be a precision show team, with no apparent weaponry they at least managed to distract and annoy Spike, and struck with enough force to dent a metal water tank despite wearing no armor.
An armed and armored flying team, making an attack dive with heavy spears, could have caused Spike considerably greater damage. |

the guard moet likly.have good intel and should know that its spike a bady not really in control. he basicly just said he would kill him and im pretty sure thats the one with the kid wouldnt that mean he might kill his own child without a second thought if something like that happen to her? |

Okay, I don't what the chances of someone reading this would be (since this image is super old) but the Night Guards (in my tumblr canon) are sent out when their is a MAJOR issue
If they had been sent out to take care of Spike, it means that he was a danger to Equestria that could not be stopped and therefore needed to be terminated. Basically in this kind of situation, the Night Guard would have been sent out once all other attempts had failed. |
