Well, I'll tell people to try it out, but I'm not like "OH YER NOT GIVIN IT A FAIR SHOT TRY ANOVER".
That's just uncouth.

I have mentioned the show to all of my friends, but none of them are interested so I dont bring it up in conversation.

I definitely don't try to convert anyone. Last thing I need is for people to know I watch this show. There's a reason I cower behind my internet anonymity.

I usually just mention it on occasion. One of my buddies was completely against having anything to do with the show.

Then we went to Youmacon and he was curious.

And now we chat about the most recent episodes and what it would be like if we were ponies, too.

I have shown ny friends the show, and some of them like it. But I didn't try to convert the ones who didn't care.

I'm not at all trying to hide my fandom, and when confronted, I'll defend the show and fandom fiercely. however, I do frequently try to get others to be interested in the show, primarily by pointing out higlights from a particular episode, and then if they say it sounds like it could be good, have them watch one.
the rest solves itself. I've got three new bronies into the fandom with this method

In my experience, aggressively trying to convert people is annoying and can come off as obnoxious. It's not generally the best way to make friends.
Sometimes it just gives people a reason to want to actively hate you.

I showed a friend of mine a YTPMV of a Banjo Kazooie song, told him to listen to it first, then watch, and he was into ponies for a bit after that. Then his internet died and he lost all will to pony after that.

I've showed FiM to others, some like it and some don't. No big deal.
People's tastes run different and there's nothing that everyone likes.

I showed my friend and now she's a die hard brony. Unfortunately, she has a tendency to shove it down my other friends throats quite a bit.
They don't mind though; they usually give me quips about it, but they really don't mind either way.

I got converted. I wasn't annoyed by the fans. People blow this 'issue' up into something combative and over dramatic. I was intrigued, I talked to some fans, I got into it. It's that simple.

I've recommended it to my friends numerous times because i genuinely believe they would enjoy it, the same way we all recommend games to each other. If they watch the first 2 episodes and don't enjoy it fine by me.

Afraid I'm not there yet. I try to recommend it and tell them to see it if they hate it with out ever seeing anything of it and just hate it because you are suppose to do so if your a guy. But I tend to sometimes get on their nerves about it.
