Spike having his first birthday in Ponyville this week proves we are still in year one of Twilight's time in ponyville. It becomes even more evident, then, that the episodes are not produced/aired in the order in which they happen 'in universe'.
What I'm getting at is that 'Sweet and Elite' does not necessarily happen after the Gala at all. In this case, Blueblood only meets Rarity for a few minutes and impresses her with his Gentlecolt veneer, setting up the events of the Gala. |

@Dale: Even if you're right and "Secret of my Excess" takes place earlier there are still a lot of things about "Sweet and Elite" which make more sense if it takes place after the Gala. |

Is there a single character this fandom won't try to redeem? I mean, Gilda, Trixie, Blueblood... even DISCORD that was a PURE VILLAIN instead of just an unpleasant person gets redemption fanfics and what not.
I'm not complaining, I like to see fans being so fueled by their imagination based on fiction, that is a GOOD thing but sometimes it feels like bronies are completely against the idea that sometimes some people are just... jerks. |

@Dale: Sweet and Elite is after The Best Night Ever, not before. We know this because the pillars in the ball room are cracked from when Twilight and her friends accidentally destroyed the room, and also because Rarity makes the friendship report (no-one but Twilight started writing those until season 2). |

The answer is 'no'. And if you think about it, it makes sense. "My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" has a fanbase of millions throughout the world. So, playing the law of averages, there's bound to be one person who likes an antagonist enough to write a piece of fan-made redemption. |

The reason Blueblood gets more hate is probably because he is male just like most fans. Of all jerks in the show he was actualy the least mean one, in fact, Sweet and Elite showed that most Canterlots are just as bad as him. |

We do, but fact is this episode fits better as post-season 1.
Rarity has her gala dress so it can't be before Ticket Master and she's not freaking out over meeting him so it can't be AFTER Ticket Master, not to mention the cracks on the gala ballroom pillars that broke. Everything points to this being after the gala. |

I'm pretty sure the show operatives on cartoon time, that is to say that each episode is less then a week apart. So in-universe it could be less then a year after the first episode. |

I know that no one will probably read this now, but what if Spike's last birthday was just before they left Canterlot in episode 1?
