Yeah, I don't see this as proof that they're in a romantic relationship (going by what I've seen on the show, I'd say the evidence is against it), but it wouldn't surprise me if this is done by some animator that's amused by (or otherwise fond of) the fanon Lyrabon relationship. In my headcanon, they're in a sort of "Odd Couple" friendship (with Lyra as Oscar and Bon Bon as Felix), but I enjoy the cute and silly Lyrabon fanart too. (Not the saucy stuff, though.) |

^ Realistically, we're never going to get "proof" in the show. We don't even really have proof that the Cakes are a physically intimate couple.
Like the Derpy cameos, I appreciate that this fanon pairing is acknowledged and given as an easter egg by the production staff. Plus, they make a very cute couple, even as Derpy tells them she emptied their fridge. |
