I bet a map could be derived from this, a map of Equestria and other countries in the FiM planet.... |

Looks like North and South America have moved down a bit, Africa has moved up to the North Pole and Europe has moved closer to North and South America. Asia is gone. |

So, Equestria happens long after humans are gone and the continents have shifted. Makes sense. |

I don't think those globes we're ever explicitly stated to be the planet they are currently sitting on...
They do use Equestria to refer to their world, and they have used the term earth and moon often... So at the very least their earth and ours could be very similar, a green planet with a single moon, but with such a strong presence of magic couldn't it be possible they have mapped, colonized and even terraformed other planets in their solar system? |

The globe was confirmed by a storyboard animator to be a random asset until otherwise stated by another staff member. |

They are not going to make a world map, at least not while the show is running. Why? Because without a world map, they don't have to worry about geography. |

@TheLoneLampman
Nope, in the Pilot episode intro it says cleary... "ONCE UPON A TIME..." so no future... |
| Dionysus #757289 7 months ago |
^
But it's "once upon a time" from their perspective isn't it ? Since the book Twi is reading is about the past, which could be the future to us. |

Twilight: "What in a wide wide worlds of Equestria?"
'nuff said. Equestria is not a continent it's the name for the nation and at least the ponies use it to refer to their planet. |
