* There probably wouldn't be less flamewars, because people don't have to post on the forums. * And you'd have to assign mods to run it. There are users here that could be that, but I think it's too much upkeep for the end result. That's me personally, though. |

So let's be clear here.
Are you just suggesting that a forum be created? Or that a forum be created, and comments be removed? Most of the big arguments here, from what I've seen, end up happening because of the content of an image. Those won't move to a forum. They'll still be prompted by the image. Meta-discussions? Maybe. But since "meta" is a required tag, if your goal is to not have to wade through such things, you can already use your Content Preferences to filter them out. (Fun fact: Content Preferences work for anonymous users too. You don't need an account!) I mean, I want this site to be the site people want. But I'm not yet convinced that this move will help solve the problems for which it's being proposed. |
