The poriginal reason is all but gone, but now it's about allowing artists to know at least someone saw their art, and it gives a base level of quality.
Thje only "Not even Roboshi would fave this" thing is pretty much true. I didn't fave it? good chance it wasn't very good. (Or posted well before I arrived.) Plus..It's fun and it ensures I've seen all the art the artists throw out there. |

Well, Roboshi, I have seen EVERY pic on ehre since about post
#15-20,000, and in about 500 more, we'll hit 100,000. I have shy of 10,000 faves, and have even gottena nice Note about my conserved use of the fave button, as well as my standards of quality/comedy/sexiness when I do use it. I doubt you know what inflation is (the economic term), nor do I think you recognise how it applies to you. That you paise anything and everything, and are famous for being famous makes you bland and dull, like a non-fuckable version of Paris Hilton or Tila Tequilla. And even the "Even roboshi won't fave' this is redundant, seeing as every image can be voted on individually, and comes off as really arrogant, as if your opinion mattered more, nevermind establishing that you have any taste--- you're essentially the snobby elitist background ponies of the episode we just had, nodding along 'just because that's how it works', while I've been trying to actually having some established taste and quality controll. I've posted a few scrappy collage-esque pics. I am an artist, but due to a slump, I have not made any art for art's sake in a long time. What that means, is that those pics-- which you have faved, I do NOT consider "my art"-- that I have not made any art with Pony yet. What I had hoped to do was establish a personality here, so that when/if I do start making things again, that "oh, hey, he's an artist? Let's all look and comment! Surely, a good judge of art has good art himself!" I admit I'm intimidated by the impeccable skill of the likes of Megasweet, and the simplistic but effective style of Weaver, and the psudo-Sprite style of Terry brings me back to my earlier Digital Artist days, when I was in the Fandom of "Thee" Megaman comic Bob and George, and had a great deal of respect there; again for my quality, both in my taste of the works of others that I commented on, but also for the quality of my work. Instead, I find that populaity here is most found in your mindless drone-like post count. That's VERY demotivating for me to make pony art. |

What really makes the whole thing funny is that Roboshi favorited this. I'm pretty sure that is Irony with capital I, or at least post-modern as all fuck.
Also Xuncu is saddlesore as all hell. And wrong to boot too. Roboshi didn't fave to became famous. It's not about his ego. It's the other way around. He became famous because he faved. Someone noticed that all images were being faavorited by the same guy, commented to someone else and BUM!!! meme. And that is how good memes are formed. |

I'm uncertain about Roboshi these days, honestly. His original excuse, about "someone saw your image", doesn't really fit in when he's the seventeenth person to Fave something. At this point it's almost certainly about sustaining a reputation.
Anchors, though, is a completely undiscriminating Fave-whore. He faved every single one of yesterday's Pony News/Van Horsing drama images. I like yellow's low profile. |

It appears that I am too late to participate in this conversation, but I'll add to it for all (none) of you who care. After going through Xuncu's posts both here and on deviantart, I think it's safe to say that his art isn't getting recognition because it's mostly photography, and what isn't photography is, to be honest, badly drawn.
Please don't blame the unpopularity of your art on Roboshi, who has never hurt anyone with his rampant faving that doesn't do anything except let people know he has viewed an image. |
