Funny thing is this. The remake was more like the story ,than the first movie. Even the blood doing that icky move stuff.

While Carpenter's The Thing was an awesome film, I feel it could have been so much better in the hands of another director.

I love it, but whenever I see it I feel that Carpenter wasn't sure whether to make a horror based around paranoia, or just an action gore-flick. To be honest I think it's more thanks to screenwriter and director of photography that this turned out so well.

And don't forget Ennio Morricone.
