She's a schoolteacher, Twilight's an academic. They're probably the two best-read ponies in town. Whenever they both appear they seem quite amiable and usually working together. Each of them is driven in a way the other can admire.
While I do think of Cheerilee as being a little older than the 6, it's not so much mothering as a common intellectual bond. |

FoalsBro: I actually imagine Cheerilee to be closer to the mane 6 in age. Mostly because young teachers do exist (my ex girlfriend became a teacher at 21), and it's been said by one of the creators of the show (I think it was Faust), that the Ponies are young adults, and I generally tend to think of young adults to be in their early to mid twenties.
Plus, in the show, Cheerilee was shown to be around the same age as Rarity, who is around the same age as the rest of the mane six give or take at most two to three years. Again, that's just how I see it lol. |
