She has no official name, but the creators have been calling her Derpy along with us, so I think that's about as "official" as we're going to get.

Ditzy Doo was a name of an unshown pony in Winter Wrap Up, Faust said it may be used for her at one point but it never was, but the production crew started to use Derpy.
Derpy is really more an official name now. |

I'm neutral towards her name, though I usually use Ditsy Doo.

I call her both Derpy and Ditsy Doo interchangeably, but I never say "Derpy Hooves" because I think the Hooves part sounds kinda dumb. That's just me though. xD |

They might use the fanon name "Derpy" but that doesn't mean her official name is "Derpy" It's just a nod to the fandom. There's no way they'd get away with officially calling her that. |

"Ditzy Doo" is assumed to be her original canon name, but we don't know that. We never see the name to the face, it is just us drawing a false conclusion. Now "Derpy Hooves" has been mentioned by Lauren Faust herself. What's more canon than that? And as for "Bright Eyes", I like the idea that, that is what people call her to be sweet. |

I normally call her Ditzy, but only because it sounds smoother. She seems to be kind of pony who knows how to laugh at herself, so I don't think Ditzy would mind being called Derpy, specially if it was meant no harm. Back in High School, I was always called mummy, undead and other similar names, and I would often not only laugh about it, but take it a step further and even joke about myself. |

I call her Ditzy Dew, her real name being Misty Esmeralda Dew (which she had trouble pronouncing, so came out more like mitzy.) As for Derpy Hooves I think that when she was growing up derpy was offensive (with derpy=retard).
Which implies that (if this is true) that Derpy Hooves' mother in Bubbles used Derpy to the point that Derpy Hooves thought it was her name. |

Anon #741393 - Her original canon name was Incidental Pegasus #something. She was a randomly generated background pony, not a character. Only after she became popular (due to an animation error or animator's in-joke, revealed by a last-minute change in the location of the main characters) did she get her first actual name, which was a fan name, Derpy Hooves. Much later, Lauren Faust said there was a pony named Ditzy Doo, mentioned but not seen in an upcoming episode, and maybe in Season 2 they would put Ditzy Doo in as an actual character, and maybe that actual character would be the affectionately-named pony formerly known as Derpy Hooves. |
