Incest is illegal in california?
How ... unconstitutional. |
| Edef #737467 7 months ago |
Because illustrations fall under a different completely different category. |
| Mattatatta #737469 7 months ago |
Images of it is legal because the characters are fictitious. Whereas the two things you referred to are only illegal in a real-life scenarios, especially if photographic evidence is involved.
But this is a site for cartoon ponies, so I don't know how real photos of that sort of thing could even end up on here without it being a troll attempt. That said, I don't know the laws in Cali that well, I'm just going by logic (Oh crap, I forgot that American laws do not follow logic) |

Because I live in California and, since it's only a state, it wouldn't have the resources to pursue any legal action against this site. The only thing they could do is block it within the state, which is probably illegal anyway. Besides, I don't think the Attorney General knows this site exists anyway. |
| AppleDash #737474 7 months ago |
It would only be illegal if they were photographs |
| Mattatatta #737477 7 months ago |
Maybe it's referring to a law in Cali against a type of drawn image? Such as lolicon? Idk, I'm stumped here.
What was the purpose of this post, OP? |
| harpseal2 #737480 7 months ago |
Then why can't we post our naked humanized Applebloom pics? Because "Images of it is legal because the characters are fictitious."
No pedo. |
| harpseal2 #737482 7 months ago |
Mattatatta, I dunno, I just was wondering after I read the rules. |
| AppleDash #737487 7 months ago |
@480
Most advertisers won't deal with it |
| harpseal2 #737492 7 months ago |
@487 Da fuq does that mean? |
| AppleDash #737498 7 months ago |
@492
The people who advertise under each picture (you might not see it if you have adblock) typically won't advertise on sites with lolicon because it is illegal in some countries. I don't know too many other specifics about it though. |
| harpseal2 #737505 7 months ago |
@498 But that's good! Fuck advertising! |
| Jackarunda #737506 7 months ago |
everything is illegal in california not to defend incest or beastiality, of course |
| AppleDash #737507 7 months ago |
@505
Yeah fuck advertising! *site closes due to lack of funds* |
| Edef #737511 7 months ago |
It's not the advertisers, no. Illustrated "child porn" is indeed illegal in cali. |
| marioandsonic #737531 7 months ago |
Come to think of it, wasn't there a court case about this in Australia, or something? |
| Eco #737533 7 months ago |
Yeah, the issue isn't images that show illegal things happening.
The issue is images that are themselves illegal for me to possess. This comes up more often than you'd think! |
| Nebbie #737743 7 months ago |
^Of course, cause I'd think people actually understand that child porn is the exception to an image of an illegal action being itself legal.
Leave it to some people to not hav any understanding of how the laws work, and to post things like this even tho they could just do a quikk Google search. @Edef Nothing I can find on this. Maybe you mean the national law that makes lolicon which fits the standard legal definition of obscene illegal. @harpseal2 IIRC Eco is downright paranoid about the law that was passed a while bakk that makes lolicon that's considered "obscene" to be illegal. So far it has, with one exception, only been used to make sentencing for child porn owners harsher, since they often hav lolicon. The one exception is the frightening part, but it is important to note that obscenity tests are extremely subjective. I'm fairly certain that not being able to know what is and is not illegal until law enforcement tells you means that they aren't going to press charges when you take it down right away upon being notified. Even if they did still press charges, it's unlikely Ponibooru would be targeted when there are larger websites to go after. Until some other lolicon-containing site is threatened with legal action, I'd say Ponibooru is very safe. Eco, are you still paranoid about that? |

@743 "Officer, I ran the red light because I was approaching it, the wavelength shifted and I saw it as green. I didn't know that it was red." |
| TheLoneLampman #738338 7 months ago |
Legal, Illegal, that stuff really shouldn't be posted here anyways. |
| Nebbie #738408 7 months ago |
^^Anonymous, you do realize that that can't actually happen, right? And that if it could happen, we would indeed be able to use it as an excuse in court, right? And if you mean to lie about the light, that's not a similar situation.
^Go to a different image uploading site, cause this one here is about any pony-related images, even the ones you don't like. |
| TheLoneLampman #738978 7 months ago |
^ Human versions of pony characters that basically amount to child porn is allowed because of this 'pony-related' technicality. Do we all really want to host child porn or frequent a site that does? Do I have to go through proxies and hope I don't end up on some FBI watch list or something?
That crosses a line and as I've said many times; Just because you can doesn't mean you should. Congradulations and enjoy your pony loop-hole. |
