Why a dollar sign? I thought they had "bits" in Equestria... |

I made this thinking I was pretty clever... But then I skipped back and they actually introduce themselves early on in the episode.
Wow. ._. I sure feel stupid. |

I like to think they have advanced technology, you just don't see it often because magic is used more commonly in and around Canterlot. |

rainbow dash is one of their projects. living rainboom bomb. she escaped the facilities at young age and is not recognized due to her growing older. |

Jets would make sense for long hauls, assuming Equestria is big enough that pegasus-drawn chariots, magic-guided balloons or railway are impractical. |

We see jets here, so they have at least the concept.
Dash named Tank because he was armored like one and originally wanted a pet that was "Fast like a bullet", discounting that bullet refers to the slingshot pellets the word originally described, then ponies are confirmed for firearms and warfare, though I like to think their at the matchlock stage because nothing says otherwise as of yet. Then we see a dam and a crane in mare-do-well, so that's hydro-electrics and a modern industry, maybe combustion engines, but we only see that the crane uses electricity. And yet, the trains are pulled, they still use phonographs, quills, and gas lamps and such. Maybe they have tech, but favor simple stuff since mostly only unicorns or those that mastered the art of hoofinger could use a lot of it, and unicorns use tend to use magic anyway. Or maybe it's just absurdly expensive and they're all saving up to one day be able to own just one of those jewel covered dresses that apparently aren't gaudy/tacky by equestrian standards. |
