In this comment thread the fandom is composed of Sonic fans and that one guy who came up with a few buzzwords but also hates Sonic under a few identities? I don't recall signing a contract to embrace everything the internet has to offer just because it contains a vague reference to ponies.
I mean, I don't hate Sonic crossovers more than any other crossover, but it does kind of make me snicker in the way a Strawberry Shortcake crossover would. |

It's more that the sonic fandom is one of the worst in existence and something the pony fandom should pull out all stops to avoid being related to. The ease of making an OC pony makes it very likely that at some point we'll devolve into awful sonicdom at some point and shitty crossovers only speed the process. |

I'm curious but i have found that there's some shit load of contradictions within the fanbase, not trolling, but the amount of people who want to.
"Tap that plot..." On a four legged talking equine is ridiculously high in a number of other pics. And yet when we end up with good looking pics with anthro poines, and furry like images which are good not the shitty ones. "WTF, Yiff in helll!!!!!" Reactions are tantamount and seriously fucking high. And then there's that reasonable people who are. "We're okay with this, but no shitty art works..." But these people are really hard to find. So can someone please explain what the fucks going on here??? (This needs to be explained.) |

Making sexual jokes of Ponies has comedic value. Demonstrating your escapism with self-inserts and acting like an autist hardly does so. It's not that much of the fetishes that brought furries notoriety (rule 34 exists for almost everything) but the constant drama, labeling their fetishes as a "lifestyle", genuinely thinking that they are not humans (or self hate for being naked apes in less extreme cases), acting on their internet fads IRL and crying internet "persecution". Furries are the source of about 80% of all the unfunny and uncreative drama of the early internets. That's why people hate them. Their fetishes are just the cherry on the top and what strikes at the normalfags' eyes, most internet fetishists just know better than to project "pride" of what they fap to in their real-life social circles. |
