one of these days ill make sense of how Pegasus ponies can walk on clouds but no other pony can... but yet other objects can rest on a cloud, like the hot air balloon that stopped on the cloud. |

With sufficient magical skill and power Twilight could have simply caused to stop roughly in contact with the clouds. That or she cast the same spell on it she cast on herself and the others. |
