She was hotter as a filly. Maybe it's the odd nekk and leg proportions (too long) this artist made her hav.

Also, hav fun with nails in your apples. That's...somewhat unsafe.

Her cutie mark is referencing her first kill as a Veitcong soldier. She hid a nail inside an apple and offered it to an American soldier, then ran away while he choked to death. Apple Bloom learned day that that she had a special talent for asymmetrical warfare, and later became one of the most cunning small-unit tacticians who ever lived.

LOL you're taking her cutie mark at face value...I only gave her an apple so she could continue the apple tradition. Also, the bandana makes her neck look really weird. :\ I didn't notice it until I colored.

^Cutie Marks are very literal, in case you didn't notice. Twilight's is the only one of the mane six that's even an abstract symbol, and it represents something that's only visible as semitransparent waves and sparkles that are dependent on the particular pony for their color, not exactly something you can make an image of.

^Flowers in bloom smiling, representing helping her students bloom (grow and reach their potential) and giving cheer to them.
Granted, it is somewhat abstract, but now try describing adult AppleBloom's talent as represented by her cutie mark. The apple part is easy, but nails inside it? Something extra is needed in the imagery.

^ Big Mac.
I contend "apple" is symbolic of "Apple family".
