In Pinkie's case, you tell them about Gypsy magic, and eventually you hav to reveal that it can only go so far to fix the past. |

you could always tell her to be batman |

The area around her mouth is pixelated, fuuuu.. forgot to clean that portion. It's true, but you're ruining my moment, Nebbie. D: |

^Obviously you havn't considered just how sad it is that at most she'd get a few seconds with them before the time-space continuum starts to break. And then she has to come to terms with them being permanently dead all over again. |

^ Nebbie, that is pretty sad. Maybe her striving and hope, not her ultimate accomplishing, is what's preserving the remnants of her sanity. That's deep. |

Wait.. are you using Dr. Who logic or something? |
| Nebbie #717946 7 months ago |
^Dr. Who is very inconsistent about temporal mechanics (at one point the Doctor was all "nope, fixed points are just crap timelords made up as legal rules." Seriously) If you mean the new series episode with Rose's father, then no cause that was just stupid about everything, and got stupider as it went on.
I think that if gypsy magic in Equestria could really alter events like bring people bakk to life, it would be ubiquitous and events would change all the time, and most likely even a small change would cause a severe paradox. If it couldn't do anything at all, then noone would ever use it. Also, if alterations caused paradoxes and it didn't somehow stop the alteration, the universe would hav been destroyed long before modern day since eventually somepony would cause a paradox. Thus, minor alterations (compared to how long ago you're going, since the alteration would exponentially increase as time went on) with something that throws you bakk before you can do any damage would be most likely. |

Nebbie, I'm personally a fan of the whole "paradoxes are impossible because if the timeline had changed it wouldn't have needed a change in the first place because it would have already been ideal" one timeline theory. The multiple timeline theory doesn't have much ground to stand on except string theory which in itself is completely theoretical. But I see where you're coming from. I'd be fatalistic about her Gypsy magic even having any effect. |

gashunk, I don't know if Pinkie has anypony to blame for her parent's death. Plus you have to be a rich orphan to be Batman. |

^I actually agree with that idea, but not in a fantasy world with magic. Magic tends to obey a completely different set of rules.
Also, I never decided whether Gyspy magic would really change the timeline, or just change it from what it would hav been otherwise. The reason I didn't is that I'm saying that the changes would be so small as to make it impossible to tell the difference most of the time. |

^ Granted. Magic does kinda throw a wrench into the gears of physics. |

^90 degree turns at mach 1 with the sonic boom producing rainbows. Absolutely no effect of g forces.
sun and moon moved in the sky by goddesses. Pinkie Pie. much, much more. I think a bit more than one wrench went in lol. |
