Expect to see more of this in the coming decades. Instead of rejecting superstition outright people tend to simply ignore the parts that are inconvenient for them personally. |

Well not really. I'd say there's a pretty clear difference between recognizing the multiplicity of human culture and just caving to bigotry. Yes there is widespread discrimination against LGBT people among practitioners of Islam, though I've spoken to devout Muslims far away as Singapore (specifically part of the Malay minority of the country) who don't have a problem with homosexuality and it's not as though queer Muslims don't exist.
